You were a part of the lawsuit, and are bound by the settlement, unless you affirmatively opted out so as to file a separate lawsuit.

    The attorney’s get:
    $27,785,214.00 in FEES
    $4,119,039.00 in EXPENSES.

    Papadakis gets $20,000.

I get a check for $23.32. Seems fair.

Over the life of my policy, that is just around $1.50 per year. That is $0.10/month. I am sure I didn’t miss it and am fairly confident none of the other members involved did either.

I do not condone what NWM did. BUT this is a hefty price to pay for something that ONLY the Plantiff and his Attorneys profit from.

The ONLY TRUE winners were the Plantiff’s attorneys. 4 years work for $27 million + 4 million in expenses. Now that is a PAYDAY.

Mr Papadakis came out alright though. $20,000. How much insurance did he have to receive this award.

We wonder what is wrong with our country. How many other of these frivilous lawsuits are currently being entertained? When ambulance chasers run wild, we all pay.

    What a JOKE!

    checks.

As the lawsuit progressed, NML disclosed the names of policyholders who were potential members of the class. When the case settled, those people were sent notifications of the settlement. If you were a policyholder, you would have received a notice.

The notice would have provided that you would receive a distribution from the settlement unless you told the entity that sent the notice that you did not want to be bound by the settlement AND did not negotiate the check(s). If you did not negotiate the check(s) you were free to file your own lawsuit against NML; if you did negotiate it/them, you were bound by the settlement and could not file a separate suit.

Assuming you got the notice(s) and the check)s), you were a member of the class.

As with a number of comments, receiving a $10.00 check was a surprise. I do not want to be a part of this suit. I have been treated very well and have had no concerns. My agent communicated everything well. This suit appears to be on the same level as the person who sued McDonalds over not telling them that the coffee was hot. We need to get back to taking responsibility and not blaming others and trying to get easy money. There may have been a legitamate complaint, I am not sure. If there was, then the action may be warranted. I am inclined to destroy this pitiful check and at least have a clear conscience.

We have been thinking about the two checks
you sent us for the amount of $ 39.33 and the other for $43.44 dollards to us; We believed it’s an insult for this amount when we are talking about $92 Million.
