    To Andrew

maybe we can start doing away with “racism” once we get rid of the hyphanated natioalities. Either you are American or African or Mexican or Italian or whoever you ancestors were. But if you were born here or became a citizen you are and AMERICAN of …… descend.

Not much on diversity, huh? I agree with an earlier poster, you can’t be a real native american. Blue eyed devils? Where did you learn about native american culture, a 50’s western? As I said before, we aren’t leaving, what’s next?

Actually Al and American Native, please do not associate yourselves with inventing IJ. There are no Al’s of your kind in our employ. Nor, any American Natives, sad to say.

Just a quick note: (1) What “minority” do you know off-hand that runs the corporations that continue emitting harmful gases into our atmosphere, further depleting the ozone layer? (2)Last time I checked most of the people that are on welfare are WHITE. It makes perfect since since you make up at 60-65% of the population and you make doggone sure your people are taken care of.(3) I hope you’re not including God’c chosen the people – the Jews – in the lot that whines about the past. If they keep their history alive, Blacks are just as entitled to do the same. It just makes people uncomfortable and given the vehemence of racism on these postings you personally were not responsible for slavery but the stereotypes are alive and well. You apparently believe the same ignorant things someone handed down to you and things said behind closed boardroom doors.

Everyone regardless of race likes to have nice things and so what if it seems some people are athletically gifted? You worked hard at anything you should get better at it or you should quit if it’s not working! People like for minorities-especially Blacks, to play for your schools and in the pro arena, using their bodies up but not mentoring them educationally and then throwing them out to pasture like dead horses when they can’t perform and/or flunk out of classes. You can argue all you want that it’s up to the individual or as some of you class-less people have posted — blacks and others are just not capable of doing better for themselves and want to play the race card. Every race has individuals that need to do self-inspection and pull themselves out of the quagmire of self pity and “it’s because of my environment” excuse.

Are Blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans and others supposed to just lie and take whatever potshots you people want to throw at us? NO! Freedom of speech, baby! I can say what I want and I don’t have to cuss you out and lower myself to NAME CALLING as some of you have done against people who do not look like you.

Oh, we’re all American when it’s CONVENIENT! We’re the “n” word and other derogatory names when people of color speak their opinions and come out against the defamatory remarks that have been made time and again on this post and others. You don’t have to write it – we can read between the lines! I think some people need to wake up and realize that I and other decent law-abiding citizens are here to get their news — not have particular races of people just dragged through the mud and stereotyped like we do not exist.

Whether you like or not, you have to work around us everyday and I know you see other hard-working people regardless of race. It’s the stereotypes posted that keep racism going in the country and apparently due to the anonymity pretty much guaranteed on the Insurance Journal’s website/blog’s, some of you feel empowered to say what you please without any guilt or impunity.

As a “funny” aside, I don’t watch “Heroes”, the “4400” or any other shows that depict the MAJORITY with superpowers. It’s a scary enough existence with the way things are run in the country and of course being written through the keyboard…

American Pride? Is that what I’ve read within these posting? “Whites” in these United States of North America, perhaps view their diatribe as pride? Two thirds of the Western Hemisphere is AMERICAN. Named after Americo, a mediterraean fellow; not an “Anglo”! No foundation for the United States of N. Amer. would have been possible without Black Slave labor, deforestation, and the massacre of REAL N. American Natives. Of course (our beliefs) in a Christian God helped grease the skids for our acquisition of this land from “sea to shining sea shining”. Our politicians thank our God with conditioned words like, “God Bless America…” for the enslavement and destruction of other human beings to make way for us. Then, we created this wonderful place on earth of Equal Oppportunity for us. Oh, before I forget, racism thrives in the United States of N. America against non-whites (rich or poor) and it’s quite evident right here on these postings. Corporate N. America, here come the lawyers, who are thanking God for their bounty too (lawsuits against racism in the employment world) and also for God’s gift of McMansions for their work in this area.

Reading between the lines of your post it’s nice to see that you admit to being a racist yourself. The first part to dealing with your problem (your racism) is admitting to it! Great job A.P.

    Dear American Pride,

Where oh where did you see that I called myself a racist? If I want my people to succeed then where is the racism in that? Being an intellectual is an equal opportunity employer – it’s not relegated to one race, mister and apparently you need to file a lawsuit to get some intellect. Just I said on this posting and the ones I placed under the Don Imus incident, you commentators can gang up on me all you want. I am expressing my Constitutional right to freedom of speech. I think some people that log on this site see this forum as a way of saying anything they want and I and others have INVADED their private sanctuary.

If there wasn’t any racism and/or if people didn’t need someone or some entity to look after their interests, then you wouldn’t have to have the NAACP, GLADD and others. Even even some denominations in churches who split off years ago because of racism i.e. the UMC and then AME (African Methodist Episcopal).

American Pride, please! You and others can call me whatever and say whatever. I am just glad that I stood up for what’s right and gave some of the posters a run for their money. I just totally amazes me that one culture can just talk about another one and you really think you’re entitled to say whatever. That’s why things will never change here in America. If people want to call this country Entitlement nation because of frivilous lawsuits please be aware that there are other folks that feel entitled to belittle people of color. Whether what you get out the entitlement syndrome is money or lumping people into the “lazy, shiftless category” it’s still the same thing.

And another thing – there isn’t any “reading between the lines”. Get a doggone clue!

God bless you, African Pride. Another blogger called them “snakes”. That’s right. That’s an accurate description of “them” racists.
