Trident Rolls Out Environmental Impairment Liability Product

June 29, 2006

Trident Insurance Services LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of San Antonio-based Argonaut Group Inc., introduced an environmental impairment liability product for public entities, public schools and public and private water utilities, waster transfer facilities, and recycling centers.

According to the company, this product features general liability and environmental pollution liability coverage with environmental liability limits available up to $25 million per occurrence / $25 million aggregate.

Some of the coverage highlights afforded with this environmental impairment liability product are bodily injury and property damage coverage, on and off site clean-up, and contingent transportation defined as bodily injury, property damage, or clean-up costs as a result of transportation of insured’s waste products by a common carrier.

Trident President, Michael E. Arledge, stated, “Trident is pleased to offer its core customer base, public entities and public schools, an environmental impairment liability product. Often, this coverage is considered difficult to obtain and/or expensive to buy. We are offering our customers the opportunity to obtain an essential protection in an easy way and at a reasonable price. Additionally, we have targeted niche private sector markets with readily identifiable environmental impairment exposure as a natural extension for this product. With environmental impairment liability, as with our other specialty offerings, we strive to deliver complementary products to our customers to assist them in successfully operating and protecting their businesses.”

The environmental impairment liability product is insured and serviced through an A.M. Best “A+” rated carrier with underwriting provided by Trident. The product is currently available in thirty-two states.
