With regard to the motive being “greed,” there may be a little of that, but there was clearly some information provided that was/is misleading. When I received this notice it brought back to my memory a question that I had when I purchased my policies (plural). I have spent time as an “insurance professional,” and as a sophisticated buyer I agree that term policies (by their definition) do not pay dividends. However, there is a place in the term policy that defines how dividends are used. This was confusing to me, and I thought nothing of it given my knowledge base, but I can see how a layperson could think they were entitled to dividends. FYI – get rid of the language!!!!!

how do you figure $11.00 if it’s a $92 million settlement? 3 lawyers divided by $92 and 3 million split the rest?

So you’re talking about maybe….us making $11.00 each and the lawyers making millions…(splitting the 33 million). Right?

What is your problem you whiney little bitches. I lit the fuse that should have ignited this entire situation and blew the fing roof off this mutha. These money grubbing **** faced lawyers can lick my scrotum.
So join me with fists balled up in rage and thrust them towards the heavens and cry out for the blood of these bastards.

Mr. Rainger – first of all, clean up your language – anger of this type does not resolve problems. If you take anger, and make it righteous, you might be a part of the solution. You do a disservice to those of us who hope for some kind of positive end to this matter…do not insult me in your venting. Look in the mirror when talking that way, and leave the rest of us alone.

Barbara – we would ALL like to know if we are qualified for any part of this settlement. I called my agent to see if they could give me details – no such luck. The phone number we were given is just an information hotline…too bad this insurance journal forum can’t tell us more!!!
