Yep, I\’m not being renewed. I have been with Allstate for over 10 years, never had a claim, always paid my premium but I\’m not mad at Allstate. They\’re just like any other public company; they\’re trying to make money. I\’ll have to change with the times. If I want to continue to live in Florida, I\’ll have to fess up to higher insurance premiums for less coverage with an unknown company. Or I can move north into colder weather? Nope, I\’ll pay the higher premiums.

And to everyone who is so upset about losing Allstate as their carrier. I\’m sure there is a pretty good reason why they are one of the biggest carriers in the country. They know what they\’re doing.

To all who have called or emailed…thank you and I\’m glad I could help. It appears that Royal Palm is competitive in Charlotte County but there are better options in other areas. To repeat…there are more affordable options and YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL RENEWAL TIME. You are entitled to change carriers whenever you want and you are entitled to a refund of unused premium if you cancel your Allstate policy before it expires. You should find affordable coverage as soon as possible with an admitted carrier and obtain a replacement policy and a refund from Allstate.

My agent told me to wait till 2 weeks before policy expires in Feb.. 2007.
By then I will be under pressure and be forced not to choose carefully. No hurricane or wind claims ever filed with Allstate. I\’ve been their customer for 10 years in Florida. They doubled my premium from the previous year and then they drop me. Florida\’s Insurance Laws are at fault. When they allowed separate subsidiaries for each state, the problems began. That \”You\’re in Good Hands with Allstate\” advertising is a fraud.

We live in Orlando and just got dumped by the \”your in good hands group\”. Our house is downtown and over 50 years old. No one wants to touch us. This house is built like a tank. Anyone know of any companies what will write homes over 50 years old?

I live in Tampa. Allstate just drop me and offer Royal Palm. Called agent and asked for a quote from Royal Palm and was told that I had to wait 90 days before expiration for a quote. That they were not offering quotes. What kind of crap is that from Allstate. If Allstate doesnt want my house they will not get my cars. Is that fair? Of course it is. Had some one found good rates in Tampa, Forida?

I live in Broward County. Allstate raised my homeowners insurance last Jan by about 75% and this Jan are non-renewing me. My new quotes, from Royal Palm and one other, are almost double what Allstate charged me after my increase last year. So in one year I will increase from $2600 to $5200 for homeowners after 20 years with Allstate with no claim. Insult to injury is now I lose my Mult-plan discount on my auto insurance (which is $500 a month now (teenage drivers, only one accident in 30 years). To the guy with the wonderful 50 year old Florida Style house (I envy you). I do not think there is any carrier out there that will insure you. We had to tear down my mother\’s house built in 1921 because we were unable to insure, and one fire was set when no one was in residence. Good luck.
