I have been reading the thread here and realize I am but one of countless!! Wish Kevin McCarthy, our Insurance Commossioner, would take a few minutes a day and read our comments. Maybe we should flood his office with mail that says we are ready to abandon him!
I too am finding it difficult to even get a quote from Royal Palm, they may be waiting until I am close to renewal and in dire straights.

I have already written the governor, senate and house but could not find an email address for Kevin McCarthy, guess he does not want to hear from the people of FL.

If I were you I would be shopping around now for insurance, you don\’t want Royal Palm.

I received a phone call today from someone in Melbourne who got my information (?) from this blog. I have an independent agency and write with 5 different carriers. If you want help, send me an email at jim@aramarco.com or call me and I will do my best. The man who called me today saved about 50% from what he was quoted.

Hey, just now found out what Allstate is doing to the homeowners in Florida. Are they cancelling all Florida policies, or just those middle income, hardworking people trying to maintain a roof and food for their families? I am a 4th generation Floridian whose family has NEVER had any homeowners insurance other than Allstate since Allstate started offering policies (at least 40 years with no claims !!!!)

    Georgia, here I come !!!

Thanks Allstate, for driving me and my family out of our home !!!

Just got a quote from my Allstate agent for replacement Condo insurance from Royal Palm. $1,120 to replace a $411 policy. That\’s 172% increase.
After sending an e-mail to Jim@aramarco.com I have a reasonable quote that is only 45% more.

I agree with all your comments. We have been in Florida since 1972 and had Allstate until last month. Interesting that I was cancelled, and know someone in same area who had a hurricane claim and was paid $100,000 for repairs by Allstate and not cancelled. I never filed a claim.
Lucky? or is something else going on??. I will keep searching for a company. Still not been quoted by Royal, but I am sure if I am it will be enormous.
