Never had a claim and now non-renewel. Where the hell are the politicians? Cant get enough graft I guess. If allstate doesnt want my home insurance they sure dont need my auto policy. Hello Geico.

I\’m reading these comments and I thought I could help. A company in Marco Island set me up with a policy that was more affordable than anyone else. Not to say it was \”cheap\” but certainly cheaper than the $9,000 I was quoted. They might be able to help you…www.aramarco.com.

Allstate is a major insurance company with billions in assets. Royal Palm appears to be start up with admitted assets of $65,000 (as of 4/1/2006). I found this data on the web using an insurance company rating firm http://www.demotech.com. If a major storm hits, how will Royal Palm be able to pay claims? I doubt Allstate will pick up the tab? Royal Palm is charging far more premium for far less protection and certainty. It’s ridicules.

I agree with what you are saying. This is another reason, besides the outrageous premium, that I do not wish to go with Royal Palm. I have been shopping around and luckly have been picked up by St Johns insurance for a more reasonable rate (still high but manageable). They are a long standing, well known, large company. But I wonder how many others being dropped by Allstate will not realize they can shop around and do not have to go with Royal Palm.

I am old enough to remember that Allstate has always had a terrible reputation of cancelling if a claim is filed. I would never use Allstate for anything!

RECEIVED LETTER FROM ROYAL PALM DENYING THE CREDIT. MY CREDIT SCORE FROM CREDIT BUREAU IS AN OUTSTANDING 795. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT BECAUSE I HAVE DEPARTMENT STORE AND RETAIL CREDIT CARDS TO PURCHASE MERCHANDISE, THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY CONSIDERS ME A RISK TO INCUR INSURANCE LOSSES. TO QUOTE ROYAL PALM, \”INSURANCE INDUSTRY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT CONSUMERS WHO UTILIZE RETAIL ACCOUNTS TO PURCHASE MERCHANDISE HAVE MORE INSURANCE LOSSES.\”
ANOTHER REASON FOR THE DENIAL WAS THAT I OPENED A MACY\’S ACCOUNT WITHIN THE LAST 24 MONTHS, TO QUOTE ROYAL PALM, \”CONSUMERS WHO RECENTLY INCREASED THEIR CREDIT OBLIGATIONS EXPERIENCE MORE INSURANCE LOSSES.\”

I VERIFIED THE ABOVE WITH THE CHOICEPOINT CONSUMER SERVICE CENTER WHO PROVIDED CONSUMER REPORTS TO ROYAL PALM.

IT APPEARS THAT IF YOU HAVE ANY CREDIT CARDS WHATSOEVER, YOU CANNOT OBTAIN THE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY CREDIT FROM ROYAL PALM.

James, while I am surprised that your score was unacceptable given how strong it would appear to a lender. However, one thing I can point out is that most insurers use a different model than do lenders, and some insurers even have their own proprietary models.

That might not be very comforting, but it is probably not an indication of how lenders would view your creditworthiness.

You are probably better off being denied by Royal Palm insurance as I was accepted but the premium was outragous. I was able to find insurance with a long standing reputable company for about half the price that Royal Palm quoted me. Even Citizens is much cheaper than Royal Palm.

Pay all these years make no claims and lose your insurance – what\’s up Allstate. They make millions in profit. They think they will keep my auto, think again. Even if I have to pay a bit higher for my auto I will not stay with Allstate. I get it – we pay, they earn we need they turn – away!! Wow! Later for you Allstate. Suggestions for who will write a policy responsibly?
