This situation embarrassed her so much that she had to go on Oprah and tell it to the world, once again reliving all the shame it caused her. Oh, the humanity! I can only imagine how much she would like to put this ugly, shameful, embarrassing incident behind her… I mean, after she cashes in, first.

    Damage to what reputation?

I never new any of the players’ names untill just now. This is strickly about the money. Imus appoligized and that should be the end of it.

If someone told her “I’m not hiring you because Imus called you a nappy headed ‘ho.”, then she might have a case.

here we go again. What a load of crap! I live about 5 minutes from Rutgers and I don’t know this girl or her reputation. Plus the only people that listen to Imus are old white men who probably have that same mentality. The only thing this article proves is that both black and white people are capable of being morons and ALL people are money hungry.

Since when are the only people with reputations famous? Doesn’t everyone have a reputation?

Your argument is not a good one since it means I can call you names in front of hundreds of thousands of people and you can’t do anything about it.

Another reason why this country is going down the tubes. A lawyer who sees the $$ and knows that punks likes al sharpton will jump in and make it a media circus -again. what did imus do that he hasn’t done in the past??? he’s made fun of president bush, president clinton, other world leaders, religious leaders, celebrities, sports superstars, etc, etc, for decades. Now this college athlete takes offense to the same type of treatment that imus has delivered forever and the “reverend” al takes offense to it??? Give us a break. Where was the good rev defending the Duke LAX players after they were exonerated??? where was he after Tawana Brawley admitted to lying and falsely accusing the police of mistreatment. c’mon al – GIVE US A BREAK

Some lawyer talked her into this mess. The only merit to this case is that he said it – no more/no less. The Duke case and now this – MLK is turning over in his grave – passive resistance – not lawyers and DA’s.

    Here we go again…

To all the racists that keep infiltrating this website — I hope none of you attend church because I could see all of you fighting more dogs (i.e. the Vick situation) than you would for a fellow human being.

All of these comments and the horrible repeat of that Imus said as the subject heading lets me know what that this country will NEVER change and gives creedance to why America is hated all over the world. When your mother, sister, daughter is called out of her name, I bet you would be ready to fight physically or legally.

People have the right to defend themselves and their honor. If suing is the only way to make people stop in a symbolic way their racist actions is through their wallets then so be it…

Would you be offended if I listed my name as “white pride”?

    Everyone needs to grow up.

Imus was wrong for what he said and this girl is wrong for suing. Once again…everyone is a moron!

Imus “settled with CBS Radio in a deal that pre-empts his threatened $120 million breach-of-contract lawsuit against CBS.”

So why should Imus get paid for calling a little girl names and she can’t get anything for him injuring her reputation?

One guy says it one time on the radio and gets busted big time.

If you want to make a real difference, put a stop to the “music” that calls women B’s and H’s. Being constantly barraged by that crap is a lot more harmful to all women’s reputation.
