Officials say more than 200 people were arrested in Arizona for DUI-related offenses over St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety released a statewide report of arrests made by several DUI task forces last Friday and Saturday.
According to the report, law enforcement arrested 233 people, up from 212 during St. Patrick’s Day weekend last year.
Officials say the 205 of the arrests were misdemeanor and 81 of them were for extreme DUI.
They say there were also 10 DUI arrests made of people under the age of 21.
Overall, the state recorded more than 3,900 stops for DUI, speeding and minor citations.
The agency’s task forces are comprised of law enforcement personnel from police, highway patrol, sheriff’s offices and volunteers.
