This whole string of commentary is so disappointing. Most Muslims are loving, caring individuals, and the religion in whole is a religion of Peace. It is a shame that intelligent, open-minded individuals are so closed minded. Do you have any friends who would call themselves Muslim?

I will seeks out a muslim to befriend if you can promise me that 20 years from now we won’t face the same problems Britain has with respect to Shira Law. Even now the Muslim faithful is trying to get the legal system to recognize their right to police their own. i.e. divorces. One small step that will, I beleive lead to our total destruction. All in the name of freedom.

Wow! You high-and-mighties will take anyone’s words that don’t agree with yours and turn them inside out to suit yourselves. Where did I say it’s OK to murder, stone your wife, or anything of the sort? If someone wants to worship a religion, have sex with another willing partner, or whatever else you right-wing weirdos consider “sinful”, I have no problem with it does not break a law or harm another human being. Worshiping Islam is a far cry from blowing up buildings and killing and maiming folks. The fear-mongering perpetuated by the right-wing is astounding and very scary because there are so many uneducated and intolerant people out there that believe your drival. Our Christian God said “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” There should be a special place in hell for people that perpetuate hate. And that includes Muslim terrorists.

Polly, I never said I hated anybody, that would make me a Muslim. No, I do not know if the ones in Tennessee are murderers or terrorists but if they’re Muslim, they probably support it.
Your intensions are obviously well meant and I’d agree with you 100% if it was about almost any other religion or subject but that theory simply doesn’t apply in this case. It doesn’t.
You addressed a snippet of my novel (haha) yet made no mention of any of my other points as to the REASON for that opinion. They’re pretty darn valid. Yet you get condesending and call Al an a**hole…really? People that resort to defensive name calling and slamming other people’s values just because they call you out indicates you’re out of options and realize you’re wrong and can’t admit to it. That may not be the case with you but usually that’s what it is.

)))Our Christian God said “Judge not, lest ye be judged.”(((

Jesus also said, in the same passage, “Cast not thy pearls before swine.”

    So I’ll stop.

I guess I should say “Oink oink.” If it means not thinking like you, I’d rather be swine, I guess.

Polly, you must be losing the debate as you have sunk to the old liberal tactic of identifying dissenters as “undeducated” and “intolerant” so as to give yourself the moral high ground. You continue to fail to see the point concerning where people draw their moral lines. You claim to be open minded but surely somewhere you must have a boundry, one that you can’t seem to articulate with any conviction or persuasion. Failing to do so makes your arguments cold and lifeless.

Tom: It is impossible to make an argument on morals with people who believe theirs are the only ones acceptable. If I am pro-choice, I am wrong. If I am not homophobic, I am wrong. If I am tolerant of other religions and cultures, I am wrong. So what could my argument be? I felt I made a pretty good case for tolerance as long as we are not hurting each other or breaking our laws. There’s not much more I can say. It’s evident the majority of people on this blog are right-wing, non-tolerant, and closed minded. Call that name-calling or resorting to liberal tactics. It’s my opinion and thankfully, because we live in America, I am entitled to it. I find it very sad, though.

My Christian God does not say anything about it being ok to have a “willing partner”. Is a willing partner a 13 year old, a person of the same sex? Who’s definition are we using? Right or Wrong is the only answer.

“Murder” or “killing babies” is there really a diff? Right or Wrong is the only answer.

Hate the sin, not the person. You can repent! I am a sinner! Please God forgive me, for I do the things I know are wrong. I ask these things in Jesus name, Amen.
