Please read closer. Not only have there been problems with Allstate engineers. State Farm has a punitive damage award outstanding in OKLA and the original ocmplaints from the Rigsbys were about engineers. The e-mail story on this site chronicles the problems. There is an obvious pattern with State Farm and the integrity of their engineering reports.

Please refer me to another time when the CEO of another insurance carrier was brought up on criminal charges for claims handling practices.

State Farm made an unwise decision to deny cliams basd solely on money and now are having to pay for it. Their scam has been exposed.

Sadly, all of this could have been avoided if State Farm and Nationwide would have acted with integrity and honesty from the start and paid reasonable wind damage to the slab cases. That would have been the wise business decision. Their exposure would not be open ended with punitive damages had they taken that course of action. And the actual damages would have been less that the 50% of limits they are now being forced to pay to avoid more losing litgation.

Yeah, stop wasting your time Dale. :)

Even *when* you answer him he doesn\’t pay a bit of attention.

It\’s just that blah, blah, blah.

Come to think of it, how many people who have posted on here have been as rude, thickheaded and ignorant as him. Could we drum up some type of award for Joe?

As I have asked many times before:

What is it you do not understand about these facts?

    3) In a civil suit, Lecky King plead the 5th amendment regarding the cases. If nothing was done wrong, why plead the 5th?

How is that comment above a FACT? That\’s nothing but half fact/half question. And the question implies something was done wrong, hence pleading the 5th. I am sure there are instances when people just plead the 5th even when not guilty. (to protect a source, etc.) So, why is this even on Joe\’s list of \”facts\”? I guess he needed to pump his numbers up a bit.

Also, you could let Joe know I didn\’t answer his questions but since I am on fake ignore, he doesn\’t \”know\” it. Of course, he will still blame us for not responding, just because he doesn\’t want to READ when we write something.

You should read the article in the Sun Herald, the Biloxi, MS newspaper today about State Farm and their settlement of the bad faith case in OKLA from the tornado. No flood involved, but the same adjusters and engineers involved.

You must realize that many here have not a clue about insurance, therefore their insane argmentative and conflicting statements.

Is that supposed to mean something? It\’s a nonsensical, doesn\’t have to do with anything at all, idiotic, moronic, ignorant post from Joe. As if that is something new.

Joe, I can read fine. This article was about Nationwide re-opening slab claims and trying to resolve them. The punitive award in OK has nothing to do with Nationwide or their behavior in MS and LA. There is nothing in the article about Nationwide acting without integrity and honesty. Allegations in lawsuits are not proof.

I am not a State Farm apologist, and am not defending State Farm to the bitter end. I do believe State Farm could have handled claims much better, and the punitive award granted by a MS jury hopefully taught them a lesson. If Nationwide, or any other carrier, settles the remaining \’slab\’ claims, they do not have an open ended punitive exposure. A settlement resolves all pending disputes on that claim, including the punitive issues. Certainly the punitive awards will have much longer lasting and expensive effect on the rest of all carriers\’ pending claims.

The gist of this article is that Nationwide is now reviewing claims. The fact that they are reviewing claims is not proof that they acted improperly.

Also, if you read my original post, I indicated that I agreed with you on some points. For example, you posted that many carriers paid \’slab\’ claims from the start. When asked to provide the names of those carriers, you did not. I supported your position on this by indicating that the lack of attempted class action suits and lack of national press against any carrier other than Allstate, State Farm, Nationwide and USAA is a rebuttable presumption that other carriers did pay this type of claim.

Why attack my position? I don\’t support what you write 100%, but I understand some of your points. Have a nice day.

    Nice post…

\”Allegations in lawsuits are not proof.\”

Well, we all know that, but it seems Joe doesn\’t. You are always going to be an apologist if you don\’t agree with him 100%. Funny thing is, I agree with your posts… I am middle of the road too (if they did wrong, hit em hard, if they didn\’t, leave them alone, etc.). But, yet Joe calls me an apologist.

He will never learn how to make sense. He will also never answer anyone\’s questions. It\’s just one of those sad realities.
