I have many friends and loved ones in picayune, mississippi. I have been looking all over the internet to find information about the damage to the town of picayune. I have tried to call my friends but all the lines are down. Anyone with any information pls email me.
The Hattiesburg American web site and the Clarion-Ledger have information. H.A. has some good pictures. The Laurel-Leader Call has not been updated since before Katrina hit; the same with the TV station, WDAM (serving primarily Hattiesburg/
Laurel). Scary. Anyway, hope that helps. The internet is an ideal tool to inform & reassure people outside effected areas. Too bad the information has been so scant. The existing information vacuum should be fixed before the next catastrophy.
My mom is here visiting from Picayune. SHe lives in the Pines. We are in Buffalo IL. My mom called her friends at the Pines on Monday morning around 8am. Everyone was fine. Some huge oaks were down but nothing major. This was before the levies broke. We haven’t been able to get thru since. Any info would be appreciated for Picayune or Nicholson. I have a sister named Debbie Snyder and a nephew Jonathon Snyder, neice Krystal Snyder, neice Winter Smith that live in the area. Please any info!
Please help me…I have elderly parents in Seminary. Does anyone know how hard Seminary was hit? Seminary is 20 minutes North from Hattisburg and South of Collins and Jackson. Please help me.
