Nominations Open for Third Annual CHOICE Workers’ Compensation Awards

A call for nominations for the third annual Florida CHOICE Awards for Workers’ Compensation has been issued by CHOICE Medical Management Services LLC of Tampa, Fla. The program recognizes physicians who deliver remarkably high-quality care, communicate promptly with all parties involved, promote the return-to-work philosophy and achieve superior levels of patient satisfaction.

“The Florida CHOICE Awards recognize and promote excellence in workers’ compensation treatment and care,” Tom Barrett, CHOICE president and CEO explained. “Physicians have the greatest control over the outcomes and cost of medical claims. This awards program underscores CHOICE’s philosophy that the best, most experienced physicians achieve superior outcomes in workers’ compensation.”

The criteria for the awards include: Licensed Florida physician with a minimum two years’ workers’ compensation experience; efficient staff that sets appointments in timely manner; work status routinely provided at time of treatment; demonstrates understanding and belief in return-to-work philosophy; communicates pertinent issues with all parties involved (e.g., employee, employer, adjuster, carrier, case manager, other treating physicians; processes necessary paperwork within 48 hours of seeing patient; and superior level of patient satisfaction.

Anyone involved in the workers’ compensation system, including injured employees, employers, human resource professionals, nurse case managers, claims professionals, physicians and/or staff, risk managers and third-party administrators, can nominate a physician by logging onto www.FloridaChoiceAwards.com or calling (888) 823-5377.
