A volunteer fire department in Miller County in western Arkansas doesn’t know who’s used a fuel card to buy thousands of dollars worth of gas without permission.
The Texarkana Gazette reports that more than $3,000 in fuel has been purchased since 2009. The theft continued even after the cards were reissued last year.
Officials at the Miller County Rural Volunteer Fire Department have asked local firefighters to turn in their cards to be checked. They still haven’t found the culprit.
George Goynes, chairman of the fire department, says the matter remains under investigation.
