Frisco, Texas-based Thazar, a Skywire Software Company, announced that Columbia Insurance Group has selected INSsight(TM) to provide enterprise-wide business intelligence.
INSsight is an end-to-end business intelligence system exclusively designed for the property/casualty industry.
Columbia will utilize INSsight’s data management platform and suite of analytical applications to manage and improve the performance and profitability of its personal and commercial insurance product lines.
By using INSsight, Columbia’s employees will have the ability to automatically measure performance against goals, identify and track trends, detect and respond to threats, and identify and take advantage of opportunities in the marketplace. In addition, INSsight’s reporting and analysis applications will enable Columbia to realize significant savings by eliminating the need for employees to request reports from the company’s IT department.
Thazar noted that according to Gartner, IT services projections call for the business intelligence and data warehousing markets to grow to $29 billion by 2006. Gartner also forecasts the industry to spend close to $44.4 billion on IT in 2003, while the TowerGroup foresees North American insurance IT spending of $41.3 billion in 2003.
