Rosie-I live in Texas. We have tornados and hail. I carry wind/hail coverage and pay a pretty penny for it plus it increases my ded. If I lose my home in a tornado (and live) I won\’t be asking ANYONE but my ins company for help. I\’m willing to adjust MY standard of living to protect MYSELF from the risk I bring on MYSELF by MY choice of locale. It\’s called individual responsibility-what part of that don\’t you understand?
One way or another, I\’ve guaranteed the financial viability of the Chrysler Corporation, paid for west coast quakes, mid-west droughts AND floods AND tornados, north-eastern ice storms AND heat waves, international terrorist attacks, and even though Hurricane Hugo tore S.C. a new one; somehow, hurricanes are my problem! Next time we want to start our own country, let us.

Not even close to the city. I live in upstate New York on Lake Ontario, the place that got 10 feet of snow in 2 days this year.
