Your question indicates you don\’t understand what \”reparations\” are. The damages identified in this sort of reparations lawsuit (refer back to the settlement for the Jews) are treated very much like war crimes against a nation or a group of people within or comprising a nation. There is no statute of limitations on war crimes or crimes against humanity.
Good luck trying to prove there were no such crimes committed.

The fact of the matter is, the legal argument in this case is a focused, legitimate cause of action involving some very large, multi-national corporations.

1) Affirmative action IS NOT reparation for slavery. Affirmative action is a measure to combat the racial discrimination of the PRESENT. Yes, it could be argued as reverse discrimination and that would be a different debate, but it is certainly not reparation.
2) Your rationalization for paying Jews for the holocaust but not Africans for slavery is absurd. Your argument amounts to equivocating over whether or not the Slave Masters intended on killing those who perished and making the arbitrary decision that being kidnapped, beaten, raped and forced into life-long servitude isn\’t worth legal remedy.

Wilson made a good point when he mentioned that the social programs errected to try to combat social injustice are generally available. For example, there are more Whites on welfare than any other ethnic group. Should the rest of us be up in arms? I think not. If we are up in arms, it should be against this whole idea of state-sponsored welfare of any type (yes, INCLUDING affirmative action). But like I said, thats not the issue here.
