Ohio AG Sues Internet Company

Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro has filed suit against Speedpeople Ltd. dba www.speedpeople.com . The company sells automotive parts over the Internet, and more than 45 consumers reportedly stated that after they purchased a product from Speedpeople, they did not receive the product and no refunds were granted. The combined loss from these transactions is approximately $11,900.00

Speedpeople is located in Canfield, Mahoning County, and sells its products nationwide. The alleged complaints violate the Failure to Deliver Rule, constituting unfair and deceptive acts and practices in violation of the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act .

Petro is asking that the court order Speedpeople to comply with Ohio’s consumer laws, pay back consumers for the product/s they didn’t receive, and pay a $25,000 penalty for each violation committed.

Consumers can file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office to receive assistance in the form of mediation. The complaint can be filed at www.ag.state.oh.us .
