Travelers P/C Mobilizes Catastrophe Response Team

September 17, 2003

Travelers Property Casualty has mobilized its Catastrophe Response Team to assist policyholders that may be affected by Hurricane Isabel.

The company has deployed members of its team to Raleigh, N.C., Richmond, Va., and Washington, D.C., to be in place to move quickly into impacted areas. In addition, Travelers has dispatched its four Mobile Claim Headquarters, custom-built RVs designed as mobile insurance claim offices that can provide claims services immediately following a disaster.

Ray Stone, who heads Catastrophe Response for Travelers, said the claims personnel and vehicles will move out to assist policyholders in affected areas once the brunt of the storm has passed. The vehicles are equipped to issue checks to policyholders on the spot and can provide a customer with a personalized debit card for instant access to cash and point-of-service buying power. Travelers also has additional claims professionals around the nation on call and ready to join this response effort.

“With more than 600 adjusters on call and extended service planned for our Customer Care Centers, Travelers has the resources available to respond immediately to the hurricane’s impact,” said Stone. “Our highest priority is to be there for our customers when they need us the most.”
