Anchorage, Alaska, police saw a significant reduction in the number of driving under the influence arrests made this year on St. Patrick’s Day compared to last year.
Police in a release say four people were arrested on Monday, compared to 18 arrests on St. Patrick’s Day last year.
But Anchorage police arrested another 16 people for driving under the influence during a targeted enforcement that went from Friday to early Tuesday morning.
Alaska State Troopers also had extra patrols out during the long weekend. Troopers reporting making five misdemeanor driving under the influence arrests.
