Progressive Opens Accident Service Center in Phoenix

The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies has opened its second service center in the Phoenix area that is designed to reduce drivers’ time spent dealing with accident repairs. At the service center, the company will offer drivers the choice of using a “concierge” level of claims service in which Progressive manages the claims/repair process on drivers’ behalf.

The Service Center is located at 21650 N. 18th Avenue.

According to Progressive, nearly 11,500 hours of productivity are lost as a result of the more than 240 car crashes that occur in Phoenix each day. More than 88,000 car accidents happen in the Phoenix area each year — about 1,700 a week and more than 240 a day. And, while 41 percent of all claims handled by Progressive in the area are considered minor in terms of repair costs since they cause less than $2,000 in damage per vehicle, the time wasted and inconvenience caused are anything but minor, the company said.

About 40 percent of drivers involved in crashes report spending four or more days managing the process of getting their vehicles repaired. That means drivers here collectively lose nearly 11,500 hours of time –almost four years — managing the claims/repair process because of minor accidents that happen every day, Progressive said.
