International Catastrophe Insurance Managers LLC (ICAT) announced that Peter Pilawa has joined the company as a senior underwriter. Pilawa joins the company’s Middle Market Business Unit, and will focus, primarily, on underwriting earthquake exposed accounts in the Western United States.
“Pete is well known throughout the industry as a highly knowledgeable catastrophe risk underwriter,” commented Ed Kelly, ICAT’s president and COO. “His experience and expertise will be a valuable resource as ICAT continues its expansion into new markets and products.”
Pilawa joins ICAT after heading the West Coast office of First Specialty Insurance Corporation, a General Electric Company, where he was responsible for establishing the carrier’s presence on the West Coast.
