The West Virginia Board of Risk and Insurance Management is getting a new executive director.
The board announced Tuesday that Mary Jane Pickens will succeed Chuck Jones, who is retiring effective Jan. 1. Jones has been executive director since 1994.
Pickens has worked as a lawyer in private practice and for the West Virginia Offices of the Insurance Commissioner. She received her undergraduate degree in political science from West Virginia University and her law degree from Ohio Northern University.
BRIM’s primary responsibility is to provide casualty insurance coverage for state agencies. It operates a similar program for other public entities, including boards of education, local government bodies and many nonprofit organizations.
