Drunken Driving Simulated for South Carolina Students

April 6, 2012

Students in the South Carolina Lowcountry experiencd the effects of drunken driving recently.

A group called the High School Injury Prevention Coalition put on the demonstration at West Ashley High School on Wednesday.

Students drive golf carts while wearing so-called drunk goggles that simulate someone’s vision when they are drunk. Students also try to text while they drive the golf cart to see just how dangerous it is to text and drive.

The coalition is a group of emergency service groups and hospitals working to reduce injuries suffered by high school students.
