I totally agree with you but just like with the insurance billionaires, the billionaires that build in these places are \”above the law\”

    Kathy – Kathy – Kathy:
You might be winning the battle but you will lose the war. When no one is writting and all policyholders in the state are with CPIC and then wind blows, your auto rates will go up again for the shortfall of homeowners premiums. Its ok though, people will lose their cars – who needs \’em anyway. With people like you and the OIR, we will add the assessments to life insurance policies. Then when people stop paying life insurance premiums and die without leaving money to their families we can pass additional shortfalls to the health premiums. Then no one will pay for health care and make the hospitals go broke as well. Well, I like your idea, it eventually will ruin all business.

I wonder if anger management could help me understand why billion dollar companies think it\’s \”ok\” to continue to rape people, take, take, take, and then when a problem arises they turn their backs on their loyal customers. That is a FACT look at what happened after Katrina where people had to sue their insurance companies. I am not an angry person however I DO get very angry when big business rolls over the everyday person and no one cares. Well I DO care and beside just posting I am actually out there doing something about it, can any of you say the same or do you just complain you need higher premiums so you can fill your pockets. When did caring for others and feeling sorry for people that are loosing their homes become a bad thing? Why is everything about how much money you can make, or making more and more and more…when is it enough? When there is no one in Florida that can own a home? When the retirees are out on the streets after paying for their homes for 30 years, when no young couple can ever dream of owning a home, when there are no more service class people left in Florida because they can\’t afford to stay? When is it enough and when will people start to care about one another again!

I hate to be this way, but I can\’t wait for the next hurricane to strike Florida. I hate it for those who will have their lives devastated and pray no one looses their life, but the only way the state government will learn the folly of their ways is for this to happen.

Billions in losses can not be supported by the state government (i.e. Citizens Insurance), and very large assessments will be made on policies accross all lines in order for Citizens to pay their claims. Hopefuly, the public will revolt against the state for creating this monster, but it is likely they will still blame the insurance industry.

Florida is headed for a economic crisis that Crist could never have immagined.

    Michael, Michael, Michael,
I am sorry you are waiting for someone in your family to die and leave you a fortune in insurance money. I on the other hand am saving and investing to be able to take care of myself and hope that my parents use their savings/ins whatever for their needs in their old age and maybe travel and such.
The part of Citizens you have to remember when all the greedy insurance companies pull out of Florida then Citizens can get \”all\” the premiums not just the high risk policies that were \”dumped\” on them by the private market. Then they will have enough in the reserves to pay when there is another storm and they won\’t need assessments. The difference between Citizens and the private market is we don\’t have to pay our CEO\’s million dollar bonusus.

I care. I just don\’t think you should get to steal my money from me. By the way, not everyone who posts on this site sells insurance. It isn\’t called \”insuranceagentsjournal.com\”.

Also, I noticed you seem to take a lot of coffee breaks. Just an observation.

Oh, and I would like to buy 100 $5 widgets for $100 please. If that isn\’t enough money to cover the cost of producing the widgets, just bill your family and friends for the difference. I have more important things to spend my money on anyway.

Oh and as someone else already pointed out (good job!) you live NEAR the cost. It doesn\’t really matter if you live directly on it or not. Orlando did get slammed into 2004 and there was a ton of damage. Orlando is MUCH, MUCH further inland than Palm Harbor, fyi. That being said, I am not sure what your point is when you say you do not live on the coast. How much closer can you get??? (Besides actual sand in your backyard)

    Please explain that to everyone.

    Is it 5 o\’clock yet???

    Mark-

P.S. I hope you don\’t want the hurricane to come get me too. I pay my premium without complaining!

What is all that ranting about? Private companies are in business to serve the public and make a profit. Insurance companies do both in other states. We only serve the public in Florida. If we can\’t make a profit, we take our money and go home. Insurance is not a charity, it\’s a business. You haven\’t provided any facts to back up any statement you made. So what that one individual made a lot of money being in charge of a huge company. What does any of that have to do with a line of insurance in Florida losing money almost every year. One of the earlier posters gave you some actual numbers for the industry in Florida which you ignored. We aren\’t making money off of anyone\’s misery. We are helping the vast majority of people we serve. A few bad situations occur. These get resolved through the legal system just the way they are for any other business. If one of us does something wrong, step on them. What are you doing to improve that situation. Apparently trying to chase an industry out of your state so that government agency can provide typical government service based on higher taxes and red tape. There has never been an efficient government agency. Why do any insurance industry posters bother responding to your rants? Because we are proud of what we do. You really do need anger management. And you really don\’t have any real knowledge of how insurance product work.

You haven\’t a clue about running a business and your idea of having everyone else pay your way is the democratic mind set. How long do you think it will take for CPIC to get enough of non high risk business to have the reserves needed to pay losses? They already have 1.4 million policies. I guarantee you that if CPIC did not have a safety net of all other policy holders in the state they would charge more. This is more about political office than the Gov and the OIR caring about you. Do you feel used yet?
