Sorry, Karen, having insurance and being involved in insurance are not the same. You have paid premiums every year, and in each of those years you have had the protection of insurance. Paying for insurance is no more an investment than paying taxes. Just because you never filed a claim does not make the insurance company a thief. Consider yourself lucky to have never lost your home and everything in it to a fire (or hurricane for that matter).
Since you have never filed a claim, on what do you base your contention that your money was stolen? You must be getting your facts from the medial and special interest groups like HAC.
So, the company you own makes a profit. Good for you!
Who approves the amount you charge for the product you sell?
What government agency looks at your financial statements and decides if the price of your product is \”fair\”?
What happens when you have a good year?
Do your customers demand that you lower your prices?
Do your customers get on the internet and call you a cheat, greedy, arrogant, or egotistic?
Do they insinuate that you are going to Hell for being rich?
I\’ll give all of you non-insurance industry people (especially Karen and Ginny) some good advice. Go find a library and check out some books about insurance and how it works. Then read the books, and come back here and let\’s discuss what you learned. Have questions? I\’ll bet many insurance professionals here would be glad to answer them.
Just want to blow off steam and blame someone else for YOUR politicians \”F\”ing up your state; find some where else to bi*ch.

\”medial\” should have been \”media\”.
I\’m so arrogant, I won\’t even use spell check!
And I am so arrogant you\’re only allowed one typo per day Mark. *Even* if you correct your mistake before I do. ;)
Anyway, I wonder what happened to Ginny…
