    My Dear Michael,

Our wind policies, which do not cover sinkholes are the second highest in the state and yet we are considered the be one of the least likely to have a hurricane….again it is simply greed. As for the sinkholes if we could get the lawyers (more greedy people) out of the sinkhole business then there would be less problems with that too!

PLEASE!!! I did not buy a home outside of my means and neither did many of the homeowners (NOT FLIPPERS!) that are being priced out of their homes. When you buy a house you don\’t expect to have a 500% increase in your insurance!!!!! I would like to have a job that gives me a 500% increase…OH THAT\’S RIGHT I DON\’T OWN AN INSURANCE RAPE COMPANY!!

Now I feel better!! Try being a descent human being that actually cares about someone other than yourself!!!

    Ginny Girl –
Show me the proof that Pasco county is the second highest in the state for wind only rates and I will send you the Money for dinner.

Ginny, you seem to want to make a big deal out of that you have to have insurance. Let me correct you.

You do not have to have insurance. You do not have to buy a home, you do not have to drive a car, you dont have to live in Florida, you dont have to live anywhere near it. You dont have to reside in Pasco county, or in the Keys.
What you are talking about is WANT. You want to live in Florida, you Want to own a home etc. etc. and if you choose to pursue these WANTS then there are requirements for you to get what you want. One of these things is insurance. Insurance companies dont require you to purchase from them. Your mortgage company or the govt. requires it. Insurance companies are generous enough to offer you what you want whether it is required or not.

To touch on another thing, and I really want you to let this sink in. Insurance companies do not set their own rates in FL. They make an arguement for a rate increase and the govt. either approves or denies it. So therefore shouldnt you be more upset at the govt. than the ins. companies.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, please do this. take a little time out of your day and do some research on the Florida insurance industry dating back to hurricane Andrew. What I want you to look at is total premiums taken in by Homeowners insurance companies and compare it to total claims paid out by homeowners insurance companies. Do not be distracted by other lines of business. Just pure property. And when you find this information. I would love for you to come back into this forum and explain why when you combine all money taken in by these companies in premiums, that number is less than all of them paid out in claims. Im just wondering how these greedy insurance comapnies are making all of record profits from Florida.

Oh wait I know the answer to that. They arent. The fact is overall the property insurance business is a losing scenario as far as Florida is concerned. Of course you cant print that or make a good talking point out of it for political reasons.

Oh yeah one last thing. If Citizens is going to be the answer for Florida, and its rates need to be frozen, rolled back or whatever. Why is Citizens already broke?

ps. Pasco county rates arent high because of the hurricane exposure. They are outlandishly high because of the sinkhole risks there. Do your research.

    Have a day

It\’s a shame that you can\’t hold an intellectual debate without screaming, yelling and not getting your facts straight. Insulting me doesn\’t help your case. I never said you bought a home outside of your means did I? And I did write in my P.S. comment that my post was NOT directed at anyone in particular. So, please get off your high horse and PAY ATTENTION to what has been written.

There are ways to get out of the situation you are finding yourself in. You can MOVE somewhere less expensive. Whining and complaining about it probably won\’t do anything. Yelling at me because you\’re angry DEFINITELY won\’t do anything.

OK, so did you buy your home within the past couple of years? Or, if not, how long have you lived there? How much was your premium when you first moved in? I highly doubt the premium increased 500% in 1, or even 2, years.

P.S. Are you also saying no one FLIPPED!!!!! homes? And remember, there is no need to be so rude. Sorry your premium is so high but if mine were, I\’d live with it or move.

I\’d also like to see where Ginny got the info on Pasco County being the least likely to encounter a hurricane. I wasn\’t aware of the sinkhole craze there but that was interesting to read.

I think she just makes up her \”facts\”.

\”The Florida coastline from Franklin County southward to Pasco County is a highly storm-surge prone area due to shape of the coastline and the shallow slope of the continental shelf offshore.\”

Yup, not likely to have a hurricane.

    Sure Ginny…

Hello – I just wanted to let Ginny know that I hear what she\’s saying.

All everyone does on this site is complain about Florida and the sky rocketing insurance rates…sounds like someone is finally doing something about it and all you do is complain about that.

Don\’t let these people get you down Ginny!

Jewel can afford the high insurance because she sticks coal up her *** and makes diamonds every two weeks.

You\’re ignorant, so what can I say to top that comment?

It was mature, to say the least. Does it make you feel better to say something so stupid? Sorry if I make more money than you. Boo hoo for Courtney!
