A group of San Antonio, Texas-area homeowners is so frustrated with the deterioration of their new homes they’ve held an open house for elected officials and others to try to bring attention to the problems.
Residents of the Fairhaven subdivision in Schertz had “Open House” signs in their front yards Saturday as politicians and other officials listened to complaints of foundation cracks and sticking doors.
Heather Camelio says her home also has a broken water line and displaced cabinets and counters. Like others, she says she bought new from homebuilder Pulte Homes so she wouldn’t have those kinds of problems. Residents say about one-third of the 210 homes in the neighborhood have issues.
Pulte spokeswoman Valerie Dolenga told the San Antonio Express-News the company will work to fix them.
