Dennis Ingles, 51, of Haughton, Louisiana, was sentenced by United States District Judge Donald Walter to spend 78 months in prison for his involvement in an insurance fraud scheme, United States Attorney Donald W. Washington announced. Ingles was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $16,691.74 to State Farm Insurance Company.
Ingles was convicted by a jury in September 2004, of one count of conspiracy, four counts of mail fraud, and one count of wire fraud. The conviction arose out of a scheme to defraud State Farm Insurance Company between June 2003, and October 2003. Ingles reportedly hired Willie Hilson of Bossier City to burn a camp near Lake Bistineau.
Hilson, 50, pled guilty to one count of wire fraud and was sentenced to five years probation.
