Okla. Firefighter Named in Second Indictment

May 5, 2004

A Multicounty Grand Jury indictment naming a former Tulsa, Oklahoma firefighter was unsealed recently in Rogers County District Court, Attorney General Drew Edmondson said.

William Bradford Adams, 49, was indicted April 14 on one felony count of workers’ compensation fraud for allegedly misleading his doctor about his injuries in order to claim workers’ comp benefits.

According to the indictment, Adams sought benefits for injuries to his neck and right elbow suffered while he was a captain with the Tulsa Fire Department. The indictment alleges Adams provided false information to his doctor “with the intent to defraud and deceive….”

Adams also faces an April 14 indictment in Tulsa County District Court on one felony count of workers’ comp fraud and one felony count of perjury. That indictment was unsealed April 16.
