Grote Appointed QBE SVP of Commercial Lines P&C

QBE North America announced the appointment of Walter Grote as SVP, Commercial P&C on Friday, October 2. He will be based in the Chicago office.

In this national role, Grote is responsible for leading QBE’s commercial lines insurance business which includes small business to middle market segments, and delivering client-focused products and services that are consistent with the company’s strategy.

He joins QBE from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty where he was SVP and zone leader for the Midwest.

Grote began his career at Travelers where he spent 25 years in a range of commercial insurance roles including VP Business Insurance, and chief underwriting officer and chief operating officer for Middle Market and Commercial Accounts. He brings a proven track record of delivering profitable growth, underwriting excellence, transformational change and a deep commitment to fostering and developing industry partnerships.
