A system of severe weather moved through multiple Midwest and Eastern states at the end of April. Damaging tornadoes, hail, severe winds and flooding were reported in multiple states.
Farmers Chief Claims Officer Keith Daly reported that more than 2200 customers have filed claims across 16 states. The company estimates that they will see more than 4700 claims at a cost of $50 million as a result of this event.
Claims staff have already closed approximately 850 of the 2200 filed claims.
