Yep, good thing I had some $$ socked away in a 401K. Just transferred the money to an IRA so I could get my hands on money to have my 19 year old car inspected, buy a new washer –got 16 years outta the old one — and get some much needed dental work done. My dad worked at the same ins. co. for 47 years; always said to stick with insurance ‘cos you’ll always have a job. 47 years with one company and a nice pension when he retired. The good ole days.

Has anyone blamed Bush yet? According to Obama Bush left him with this mess and it is just not the Democrats fault.

Yup. Buried deep in the bowels of the contentious, controversial issue of unemployment, is the National Flood Insurance Program. Nothing whatsoever to do with unemployment or COBRA. The NFIP is a CBO budget-neutral entity. It costs the government -0-, yet it’s authorization to operate expired on Mar. 30 and it somehow got stuck in HR 4851! What this means is anyone in the process of buying and closing on a home with lender-required flood insurance or anyone who’s insurance renewal date is now, can’t not purchase or renew their policy! The Louisiana Senator appealed to the Senate earlier today to pull the NFIP “line” out of the bill and put it to an immediate vote to get the agency back up and running again. The response he received was If you want the NFIP, you’ll have to vote “yes” to the whole bill. If you’re not ready to do that the answer to your proposal is -no-. An insurance program held hostage by an unemployment program. Sure, that makes sense…

Having seen some wills left by ancestors back in the mid-late 1700s, slaves were passed down when their owners died as they WERE treated as property, just as was the milk cow, goats, barns, acreage, etc. and were given freely to inheritants to include any of the slaves’ children that may come along. The Africans (and other islanders that were sold into slavery) were sold to the slave traders BY other Africans – captives from neighboring warring tribes and sold into slavery, transported to the States and sold to land owners and others that could afford to purchase them….and all in all, as once was told by Walter Williams (Economics Department at George Mason University) “African Americans are better off today BECAUSE of slavery. Had it NOT been for slavery, the AfricanAmerican would STILL be an African…being chased around by lions and warring neighboring tribes.”

So where are these taxes to pay for the unemployment going to come from? Me? The company I work for? If it is the company I work for then it will eventually trickle down to me in loss of benefits, working longer hours because they can’t hire help or loss of job totally. This is totally crazy!!

Obama won in a landslide. These changes are mandated by the American people. If you don’t like the way things are maybe you shouldn’t of voted for Obama. Welcome to the new America. hahaha

Way to go Congress. You leave NFIP twisting in the wind while you are messing around with unemployment benefits & Cobra. You keep adding to the deficit, doing the wrong thing for the American People and you are short termers come November.

Rosie, Obama does not know what is best for me. I don’t like this new America and that is not what the people who were blinded enough to vote for Obama voted for either. He said one thing during the campaign and went extreme left after being elected. I only pray that the people who were stupid enough to vote for him the first time, are not dumb enough to do so a second time. This spending has to end. Do you have an endless pit of money to buy things? I don’t and I want the government to stop spending MY money.
