Investigators say a fire that burned a Wausau hotel over the weekend was likely caused by an electrical problem.
Guests were evacuated from the Days Inn Saturday night and escorted to another hotel. About 20 people needed rooms elsewhere.
Police say the fire engulfed the west end of the hotel, collapsing the second floor in that area. One man was transported to the hospital after complaining of chest pain and later released.
A state fire marshal and local police and fire officials began an investigation into the cause of the fire Sunday. Investigators learned a bathtub had overflowed for an extended period of time on the second floor earlier in the day. It was the same area where the fire was later discovered.
