A copy machine is blamed for the fire that damaged a grade school in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
The Southeast Missourian reports that students at Blanchard Elementary School will meet indefinitely at Lynwood Baptist Church following the fire that broke out Tuesday night.
Cape Girardeau fire inspector Ivan LaGrand says an idle copier overheated in a teachers’ workroom. The blaze destroyed everything in the workroom and caused smoke damage in two rooms used to assist disabled students.
No one was hurt. Damage is estimated at less than $500,000.
