A former insurance adjuster in Missouri has been sentenced to two months in jail for stealing more than $1 million from his employer.
Sixty-year-old Robert Riebold of Jefferson City, Mo., also was ordered to pay restitution.
Authorities claim in court documents that Riebold took the money while working for Shelter Insurance between August 2003 and August 2009.
The document says that Riebold cashed checks made payable to Shelter and its customers and deposited the money into a personal account.
The Jefferson City News Tribune reported that Circuit Judge Patricia Joyce imposed the sentence under the terms of a plea agreement.
Riebold was charged with a Class B felony, and could have been sentenced to a prison term from five to 15 years.
