So far, it seems that only one out of all these people posting are familiar with WC and how they work.

People, think and know what you speak of before you type. The day may come when you are on WC and boy, will your tune change.

\”The insurance company gets hit for a large amount that is transfered to the defendant and legal team, making them rich.\”

Well, lets see… isn\’t that what the insurance companies are doing to those who sign up for there services? A business will get a claim then the business pays through his/her pants to be able to afford coverage that is required by law.

Money is the only thing insurance companies understand. Only then will they get the message to stop abusine the injured workers of this country.

Have you read about the WC scam in Ohio? Boy, their is a can of worms open in that state. Millions…… Millions were stolen from there own top employee in the BWC!

What does that matter? Isn\’t that like saying I can\’t comment war because I\’ve never served in the military?

I ran this case thru my bootleg version of Colossus and it turns out it\’s really only worth $7.8 million, so that proves beyond a doubt the jury really botched this one up.

I ran it thru CCC and it found the only comparable vehicle was an 1986 Plymouth Reliant in Iowa City as the closest comparision based upon prior condition and injury as well as mileage. Value $935.

No, Bubba, it\’s not. It\’s simply a question posed. The suggestion is that one who had been devastated by wc could relate. Fortunately for you, it seems you have never been on wc. Never had to wait by the mailbox wondering where is the check that was supposed to arrive yesterday. Never had to wait while an insurance adjuster ponders whether the treatment being recommended should be approved, while you continue to experience the pain that could be relieved by the procedure. Never had to undergo the indignity of meeting with a prostitute defense medical evaluator who can miraculously conclude every other doctor you saw and who treated you was wrong and he is right, after spending only 15 minutes with you.

\”HA! Who says that there is all this fraud? The insurance companies? Of course. BUT….. what they don\’t tell you is that it\’s less then 1%. That\’s right and a fact. That there is less then 1% fraud.\”

Just out of curiousity, where did you get this factual information from?

And why is it that a few bad companies… or a few bad adjusters make the whole industry so despicable? I don\’t think claimants are despicable just because of the ones who commit fraud.

That sounds like a lot of jumping to conclusions to me. Besides, other industries are constantly saying \”Check\’s in the mail!\” I realize this is an insurance site but still… must be the American way, not the Insurance way.

easy…:-) It sounds like you want to prove my point that we\’re going down the road in America where one can\’t have an opinion on something if they been in that position.
So what you\’re saying is, if 10 mil were fair in your situation, but you went to trial and got 30 mil, that would be okay because you\’ve had it rough.

Again, you have not given me any proof. If you are gonna state \”facts\” why don\’t you state your source? (I guess you just made them up huh?) All you are doing is spouting off your own experience. Yes, I do know of people who have been cheated by WC AND i know people who have cheated WC. And, don\’t even begin to tell me how ALL of these people are SO hurt and can\’t work. Why is it that the surveillance company caught them up on a roof laying down roof tiles? \”But I can\’t even lift my arm up!\” That\’s bs- no, not all of the time. That isn\’t what I said. You need to practice your reading comprehension. By the way, don\’t tell me there (not their, by the way) is a lot I don\’t know about work comp. I have been familiar with it for 20 years. So, my point (just to make it clear for you) is THERE IS LOTS OF FRAUD AND MISCONDUCT IN THE WORLD!!! Companies, individuals, aliens (the outer space kind, plus i guess legal and illegal ones too)… People cheat other people and people work for insurance companies. So, I guess until robots run the industry, things like this will happen. And, claimants will continue to try and cheat the system too. I have not given any statistics or made any claims of percentages as you have nameless. Just my OPINION… (look it up at dictionary.com, then look up FACTS)

    Happy Friday everyone

That\’s what it seems like to me.

Neither of them know how to back up their \”facts\” with proof.

I guess they could be brothers… or father and son… or… cubemates!

Every fact presented has been disregarded as mere propaganda. Noone, not a single poster, has refuted the FACT that Collussus undervalues bodily injury settlements. Noone has refuted the fact that the \”value drivers\” used by Colossus were never disclosed- or, more accurately, shielded from the public. How can you possibly claim it is meant to fairly evaluate and consistenetly value injury claims if one cannot know what terminology, methodology it uses? Noone has refuted the fact that the current administration\’s own justice department has determined that tort filings are down by more than 70%. Noone has refuted the FACT that insurance company profits for the first 9 months of 06 exceeded 467 billion dollars.
Bubba- all I can say to you is read Plato\’s Allegory of the Caves to gain some insight to the benefit of experience. I\’m sure it\’s way over your head, but Cliff\’s notes can probably explain it, even to you.
