A Bucks County, Pa. couple is suing Verizon Communications over a fire they say has kept them out of their apartment for two months.
Daniel Wood and Dawn Sammler, of Warrington, say Verizon workers installing fiber optic line started the fire when they drilled through a wall and struck an electric line on Sept. 6.
Sammler was in the hospital with the couple’s newborn baby. The lawsuit says they and their now two-month-old daughter are still living in a Horhsam hotel.
The couple’s attorney also says they lost $58,000 worth of belongings including clothes, food and equipment for the baby. He says Verizon has offered to pay $1,800.
Verizon spokeswoman Sharon Shaffer says the company’s insurance adjusters have been working with the couple’s attorney.
