Maryland Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced the filing of felony insurance fraud and felony theft charges against Jimmy Ray Osborn, 56, of Accokeek, Maryland. The filing of charges follows a joint investigation conducted by the Insurance Fraud Division of the Maryland Insurance Administration and the Office of the Attorney General.
In a two count criminal information filed in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, it is alleged that Osborn, from March 26, 2001 through June 17, 2003, collected more than $34,000 in disability benefits while gainfully employed.
If convicted, Osborn could face up to 15 years in prison on each count. No trial date has been set.
