May 20, 2009

San Diego – (May 20, 2009) – Acquiring new customers, reducing costs, finding new ways to do business, are all increasingly important in today’s economy and are the reason for the success of the Exchange Conferences hosted by Insurance Journal’s While conference and trade show traffic is down for most event-hosting organizations, the Exchange continues to grow and expand into new cities.

In fact, according to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), every critical trade show metric was down by an average of 3.1% in 2008 vs. 2007 including attendance, number of exhibitors, overall net square footage of exhibit space and revenue (Source: And the outlook for 2009 is similar.

“The Exchange Conference continues to grow for a variety of reasons,” explained Adam Dunford, Vice President of New Business Development for “Most importantly, we provide high value to both the exhibitors and attendees.”

“Our event is about helping agents gain access to new markets and helping the Markets sign up new agents. That’s all we do. We facilitate the meeting of agents and Markets and provide a format for them to do business,” Dunford explained.

As a result of the narrow focus, the Exchange attracts decision makers who are ready to do business. Exhibitors typically walk away with 15 to 20 solid leads, that turn into real business, while agents leave having gained access to new sources for their E&S coverage and program needs.
