Announces Two More Exchange Conferences

April 8, 2008

SAN DIEGO – (April 8, 2008) – Due to the success of it’s inaugural Exchange conference,, has scheduled two additional conferences in San Diego, California on September 4, 2008 and Dallas, Texas on September 30, 2008. Exchange conferences can best be described as insurance “Market Fairs” where agents who need markets meet with MGAs, wholesalers and carriers who provide them. Sponsoring MGAs, wholesalers and carriers staff “trading desks,” and will be on hand to answer questions and accept applications from agents in attendance.

“This is not a tradeshow were agencies send their CSRs for continuing education credits” said Adam Dunford, vice president of new business development for Wells Publishing, publisher of Insurance Journal magazine, and “The agents who come are looking specifically for new markets. We don’t offer CE classes or even have trade show booths. Our draw is the markets themselves, markets looking to do business with agents.”

“I loved the intimate feel of this event” said one agent surveyed after the inaugural conference in Orange, CA in February. “You could really talk to these companies and get a sense for if you could use them or not.”

An MGA who replied to the survey said, “We actually had the opportunity to speak with an already appointed agent who is anticipating a significant increase in contractor new business and prior to the ‘Exchange’ he was not aware of one of our newest contractor programs … had we not been there, we may have missed the opportunity.” is moving forward with plans to hold seven more Exchange conferences throughout the country in 2009 to include events in Florida and Illinois as well as repeat events in California and Texas.

“Exchange conferences are open to the entire P&C industry,” said Dunford. “Although is a members-only website, attendance at the Exchange is open to everyone. You don’t have to be a member to attend.” Attendance is free to agents while three levels of sponsorship are available to MGAs, wholesalers and carriers.
