S.H. Smith Acquires Firm and Opens Philadelphia Office

Philadelphia, PA – December 17, 2007 – S. H Smith & Co., Inc., a national, independently owned wholesale insurance broker, managing general agency and program administrator, has acquired SecureRisk Intermediaries Insurance Agency and is opening an office in Philadelphia to better serve its customers in the Pennsylvania/mid-Atlantic region.

According to Scott Smith, President, “We have a considerable amount of customers in the mid-Atlantic region whom we felt would be better served by our opening a regional office in Philadelphia. This decision supports not only our company’s ambitious growth plans, but also serves to support our high standards for customer service.”

S. H. Smith has also hired SecureRisks’s former president/principal, Ed McGuire to head the new office. As Regional Vice President, Ed will be responsible for coordinating marketing and brokerage activities for the newly opened Philadelphia office
