California Landscaping Business Fire Destroys 21 Vehicles, Causes $1M Damage

A huge fire at the sprawling warehouse of a Southern California landscaping business caused a collapsed roof, forced the shutdown of a freeway ramp and caused an estimate $1 million in damages.

San Bernardino County fire officials tell the Riverside Press-Enterprise that the three-alarm blaze broke out Monday night at Hunter Landscaping in Grand Terrace.

Firefighters had it knocked down just over an hour after it was reported, but mop-up efforts were expected to go on for hours.

Damages included the destruction of 21 landscaping vehicles inside the warehouse. About 90 percent of the roof collapsed and the walls were badly damaged. A ramp to Interstate 215 was closed to allow emergency traffic to move freely.

There were no injuries except a minor cut to a firefighter.
