Arizona Bill Regulating Trampoline Courts Passed

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has signed a bill regulating how trampoline courts operate in the state.

House Bill 2179 would require that increasingly-popular trampoline parks register with the Department of Fire Building and Life Safety and show proof of a minimum $1 million bodily injury insurance.

The bill also would require the department to keep a database of all trampoline courts and to make available to the public a company’s proof of insurance, emergency calls made to the business and inspection certificates.

Republican Rep. Doug Coleman of Apache Junction brought the bill forward after an Arizona woman said her son died in a trampoline park after landing on his head. The woman said trampoline parks are not safe enough because they are not regulated properly.

Brewer signed the bill Wednesday.
