Prescott Valley police will be among law enforcement agencies around Arizona that will be cracking down next week to ensure drivers are wearing their seatbelts and that parents are using child safety seats.
The weeklong effort is part of the national Click It or Ticket enforcement campaign. The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is funding the effort in Arizona.
Police officers in Goodyear and elsewhere will also be participating.
Officials say that despite widespread efforts to educate drivers about the importance of wearing seatbelts, vehicles collisions continue to be the leading cause of death and serious injuries in Arizona.
The enforcement campaign will run from May 20 to June 2.
