The children of an Ogden, Utah, couple who were killed when a bread truck crashed into their vehicle in 2010 are suing the driver and three companies.
The family of Maria Quintero and Agustin Rios is seeking at least $300,000 for wrongful death against the driver and for negligence in various degrees from Bimbo Bakeries USA, Sara Lee Corp. and Metz Baking Co.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports the accident occurred after the couple’s Jeep “became disabled” on Interstate 15 and veered to the outer right lanes.
According to the suit, another family member turned on the vehicle’s hazard lights and began directing other vehicles around the Jeep.
The suit contends a speeding bread truck then crashed into the Jeep in which the couple were sitting.
