North Las Vegas, Nev., police now say they doubt a fire on the second floor of a vacant home was deliberately set to injure firefighters.
Police Sgt. Tim Bedwell said Wednesday that investigators still think arson is the cause behind the 4 p.m. Saturday fire at the graffiti-marred house near Gowan Road and Decatur Boulevard.
He says two firefighters were treated for minor injuries after falling from a staircase that had the hand rail removed.
Neighbors tell police the house was a magnet for partying vandals, and Bedwell says investigators haven’t found evidence that firefighters were a target.
The blaze caused about $100,000 damage.
