The number of workplace fatalities in New Mexico decreased in 2010 when compared to the previous year.
A study by the New Mexico Environment Department says preliminary figures shot there were 38 work-related deaths in 2010.
There were 42 such deaths in 2009.
The biggest decrease in deaths in 2010 came in fatalities related to transportation.
Still, transportation deaths accounted for nearly a third of all work-related deaths in 2010.
