Court records say a Greeley, Colo., man gunned down in front of his home last week may have been killed for his $110,000 life insurance policy, payable to his ex-wife.
Two men, Cecil Erb and Justin Brunner, have been arrested in the death of Jeffrey Watson Sr.
Investigators say Erb is the boyfriend of Watson’s ex-wife, Georgia Watson. Erb was arrested last Friday in Dubuque, Iowa, on a first-degree murder warrant.
Court records show Georgia Watson is the sole beneficiary of the $110,000 insurance policy. She hasn’t been arrested, and she denies any involvement in the slaying.
Jeffrey Watson was shot in his pickup as he prepared to leave for work.
Authorities believe Erb was the shooter and Brunner helped plan the crime.
