Chad Croner, 30, of Meridian, Idaho was sentenced to one to five years in prison for insurance fraud, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said.
Fourth District Judge Joel Horton suspended the sentence and ordered Croner to serve 180 days in the county jail and five years probation. Judge Horton also ordered Croner to pay Farm Bureau Insurance Company $1,000 in restitution.
Croner was also convicted of bankruptcy fraud in federal court and must serve a 180 day sentence, which will run concurrent to the sentence issued by Judge Horton.
Croner pleaded guilty on Aug. 30, 2004, to one count of insurance fraud, a felony. Croner reportedly presented Farm Bureau Insurance Company with a false claim for reimbursement of $4,690.75 for flight equipment he claimed had been stolen in a purported burglary.
